Here are some palms and exotics in London, I will add to the thread at a later date as well as I take more photos. These are photos of the big canary island date palm, Norfolk Island pine, a yucca gigantea and the bougainvillea in Fulham. The bougainvillea are still in flower.

I found a South American Palm Weevil under my CIDP and upon looking more closely from an elevated spot, I noticed the top was quite flat. How deep do palm roots go? - PalmTalk
How deep do palm roots, specifically Washingtonia and Sylvestris, go down, not how wide? North Padre Island has a fresh water layer under it, 5 to 9 feet down. Mature Washingtonia and Sylvestris do very well here. wondering if that could be part of the reason.

All-in-all, this is a wonderful palm for San Antonio gardeners—fast growing, very hardy and easily transplanted, either balled and burlapped or in 5 or 15 gallon containers. Next in popularity among the smaller palms comes the Mediterranean Fan Palm, Chamaerops humilis.
